This is recommended by many websites as a easy or first Munro and whilst I agree the paths are good, it is still not to be underestimated. It is a long walk as you start at ground level, with some drop edges as you near the summit, I would recommend raining beforehand.

In saying that with nice weather the views are amazing, there is plenty of places to stop along the way and rest too, just beware in Peak season and nice weather it does get exceptionally busy.

From the car park the path is sign posted through the information building and the track leads in the forest climbing steadily.

The path rises steeply in places on a good solid path, when you come out of the forest area the views of Ben Lomond open up ahead of you, the path is quite steep in this section but eventually it levels out giving you great views of the mountain sand Loch Lomond.

The path just leads directly ahead of you before the final steep zig zag ascent up the side of the mountain, The path eventually reaches the rim of the very impressive eastern corrie which has been hidden until this point - a sudden moment of real mountain drama. The path keeps to the left of the cliff edge before making a final short rise to the summit where sits a trig point with the most amazing views.

We had a mixture of weather, some sun, hail and rain, we contemplated turning back at one point the weather cleared up for the final summit push, which I'm glad we did as the views were amazing.

We returned the same way and in total with lots of break stops it took us 7 hours.
