You can start to head out of Grasmere towards Easdale Road, following the road past the turn to Easdale Tarn. Going through the gate to the farm to the other side, where you take a right up towards the start of the ascent for Helm Crag.
The footpath is sign posted and easy to follow, it starts going steep to the summit, on rock steps with some zigzag sections.
The path turns more into a scramble to the summit with no defined path, but once you reach the plateau you will see the large rock formation being the lion and the lamb, return back to the car the same way.
