Known to be one of the best ridge walks in the Peak district, with amazing views over Edale, this  is also one of the easiest hill walks and from the car park to the summit of Mam Tor it can take less than 30 minutes depending on speed of walking.

This is a very popular walk, so often very busy during peak times, we have done the walk later in the day and found it very quiet, the last time we arrived at 10am and got the last space in the car park.

This is probably one of the easiest ridge walks with little effort required we have done, it gives the option to expand to lose hill and drop down making it a circular walk, you can also park in castleton if mam tor car park is busy.

Ariya was 2 when we first done the full ridge walk, we took plenty of stops along the way, initial steep climb to Mam tor via stone steps, then its a easy path towards Hollins cross, then a slight scramble up to Back Tor and again some inclines to Lose Hill, you can return the same way, or drop down to the right of Lose Hill and follow the bottom path making it a gentle return walk.
