TERRAIN-WELL MAINTAINED PATHS, FOREST PATHS AND INCLINES

This is an easy, three-mile walk  that takes in three of the most historic sites in this part of the Goyt Valley; The ruins of Errwood Hall, The hilltop cemetery of the Grimshawe family who lived here from around 1840 to 1930, and St Joseph’s Shrine.

We also walked up to Shining Tor summit from Errwood Hall, which was a gentle ascent on good paths making it approx 6-7 mile walk.

There are various maps in the area to choose a route, the only downside we found was that there is no toilets or facilities.
