WALKS WITH WHEELS

July 2022 I suffered a bad knee injury requiring surgery twice and since I've been unable to walk, I am doing physio and exercises at home to try and improve my knee enough for a 3rd surgery which is full reconstruction of the ACL.

Recovery is slower than expected which is affecting my mental health, Its been a tough 2 years having blood clots on the lungs, losing my mum who was only 59, then having pneumonia, just as I started to recover from all this, my knee happened.

Hiking in the mountains is something I have done for 7 years from Ben Nevis to starting the Wainwrights and Munros, it is also a way to let off steam, relax and feel a sense of achievement and not being able to do that is really tough, especially when many wheelchair walks are low level short walks. Walking to me was an addiction and that has been took away from me, I am pushing my leg and the more I push the more it hurts and the rest of my body seems to be crumbling with it.

So my mission is to find walks for everyone, from short walks to full day walks with the wheelchair, I need to have a focus and gain some enjoyment again. No its not the same as walking in the hills but it does help my mental health being outdoors.
