From the car park go through the gate at the end of the car park, opposite to where you came in, and follow the path straight down between the two reservoirs.
for todays walk we turned right here and headed for the small forest at the corner of the reservoir.
Cross over the stile and head up hill, turn left and follow the path to the end where if begins to rise, this area will take you to the old ruins, chimney tower to explore, from here follow the path along the edge of the hill with the reservoirs on your right, go towards the forest and then turn left to follow this path and you will see the trig point in the distance.
THE ROUTE WE TOOK
At the forest we took the first path on your left and followed it over the bridge then uphill on a steep muddy path but easy to follow, the beck is on your right. When you get to the top you follow the faint path ahead and you will see the summit Trig point in the distance.
After a quick snack stop ( snack stops are great to keep the kids going ) we retraced our steps down.
There is various paths in the area, various ruins to go exploring too along these paths and also behind Clough Head car park. is good paths with old quarry works and ruins.
