COWN RESERVOIR WITH WHEELS

Well surfaced easy paths round the reservoir but also more strenuous walks available into the surrounding hills, which are full of history and part of the valley of stones trail. The  Forest, is encouraging birds and wildlife to return to the area, and hiding the landscape scars caused by excessive stone quarrying.

🌊Watersport facilities

🥾1.5 mile circular

☕Sometimes pop up food vans but locally there is various places to eat. leading to the reservoir.

Difficulies- Good level path throughout, can get muddy after rain, some gates but all wide for the wheelchair

There is room for 3-4 cars at the start of the path, or a larger car park at the water centre. From the Layby parking the path starts either through a gate  or through the car park and over the dam.

Information board along the first path

Bneches along the route to take a break, or enjoy a picnic, wide paths, but mmore suitable for terrain wheels due to the little stones

In the distance  on the hills you will see the remains of the quarry works, we walked the ruins before my injury and found it interesting. the quarry ruins are among the hills which is hard to get into the wheelchair safely.

The path follows the reservoir and turns left via a gate. The path ahead takes the higher path which was boggy when we vistsed so didnt test it out, instead we took the lower path making a nice circular.
