The Lost Valley is  where the Macdonalds were supposed to hide the cattle they had stolen from their neighbours but not sure how they managed to get them there.

The geologists say that the lost valley was formed by ice that could not escape from the valley as the big  ice cap flowed down to the sea through  Glencoe from off Rannoch Moor. I

Looking down from the car park towards the bottom the gorge is so deep that the river is not really visible from the car park – the old road can be seen. walk to the old road and turn left along it. You come to metal steps lead down to a bridge and  over the river. there is then a little scramble up the rocks but a metal rope is ion place to hold. The other side joins the path that rises quite steeply up the hill between Beinn Fhada and Gearr Aonach, the left two of the three sisters of Glencoe.

We stopped and had a lunch break here by a large boulder.

The path then is quite high and narrow so care needed, you soon come to a river to cross, there is stones in place but after a lot of rain it can be wet.

 This next section is very steep with a drop edge so care was needed but the kids managed fine.

 From the top its a nice walk into the valley, we went right down to the bottom to have a look around and scramble over some rocks before we returned the same way.
