TERRAIN-WELL MAINTAINED PATHS, FOREST PATHS AND GENTLE  INCLINES SMALL SCRAMBLE NEAR THE SUMMIT

Excellent walk for all ages, on forest paths and well maintained stone path to the summit.

The trail is sign posted from the car park with various trails in the area.

🥾We took the footpath that goes between the road and the toilet block. This takes you past a large Macclesfield Forest sign, continue straight and take the footpath on your right sign posted  ‘Shutlingsloe’.

🥾 Keep going straight, there is plenty of paths to the side but we  stayed on the main path, that slightly rises through the trees.

🥾Nearly a mile walking you reach a wooden gate with the green metal gate on the left, Go through, continue straight ahead,  and following signs to ‘Shutlingsloe,

🥾 Continue on this path until you arrive at another sign post, follow this until you come to another gate.

🥾 Through this gate the path turns to flag stones, when we walked it was still showing snow on the ground and super windy, but clear to see the summit.

🥾 There is a slight scramble to the summit so please take care, but the trig point sits at the top with amazing views.

We returned the same way
