We have previously done Snowdon 3 years ago but decided to join today's walk with the Walk 1000 miles meet up where over 150 walkers took part walking various ways to the summit in their own groups, all while raising money for Mountain rescue.

This was Ariyas first big hill, we were prepared to turn around at any point or if she struggled.

The weather was nice and clear with no rain thankfully, we walked as a family as we knew we would be slower than most.

The PYG track we chose as it has lots of rocks and boulders to scramble over and the kids love that, we were lucky it was a weekday in September so quieter than most days.

It is a steep climb from the start lost of rocks to climb and steps until it reaches a level point where we took our first snack and drink stop, it was also the first view of Snowdon.

The weather can change at any point and did go a little chilly so Ariya put some gloves on, she was coping well, no complaints at all.

It was a short level walk before we hit some scrambles again, Ariya loved it as she was getting lots of people stop and say hello, she then started picking up small white stones and giving them to everyone along the way, this actually kept her focused and she didn't complain once of sore legs thankfully but it did take longer to get to the summit with her stopping everyone to talk ( think it took around 3-4 hours up).

We come to a busier junction where the Miners path comes up to meet the PYG track and then rises up steps towards the final steep climb to the summit, this is steps into the mountain that zigzag to the plateau.

When at the top you meet the path from the Llanberis route too, we turn left here and follow the trail right the way to the cafe, this was fantastic  and a great incentive for the kids, hot chocolate and cake, then a trip to the shop to buy completer certificates before we decided to take the gentle path down the Llanberis path. We chose this as we didnt want Ariya legs to get too tried with the big boulders and risk falling.

the Llanberis path is a gentle descent on a excellent path with a pub/drinks and toilet at the bottom.

It took 2-3 hours to descend with snack stops.

Ariya managed well on the walk down, didnt ask to be carried and skipped part of it, not bad for a 3 year old.
