WALLA CRAG 1234 FT

SITUATED IN THE CENTRAL FELLS WAINWRIGHT 204

LAKE DISTRICT

PARKING- NATIONAL TRUST GREAT WOOD CA12 5UP WHICH IS 2 MILES FROM KESWICK TOWARDS THE BORROWDALE ROAD.

MILES 2.5 MILES CIRCULAR

ASCENT-283m approx

FACILITIES- TOILETS, PUB, CAFE IN KESWICK

TERRAIN  Steep and rough paths, some verging on very rough, but nothing technical.

There is also a option to walk up Cat Gill which is very steep, edgy, and rocky

We  took the sign posted path from the back of the car park and followed the forest trail for a short distance.

We then took the path up Cat gill as the kids love scrambling and managed this route fine but would not recommend with a baby carrier or smaller legs as its a narrow path with high drops into the gully.

This route takes you up beside the gill, its easy to follow just rough and edgy,  you have a final scramble to the flatter plateau before you walk away from the gill towards the summit, we made it a circular and walked in the opposite direction down a easy grass path.
