We have walked Grisedale pike from the bottom of Whinlatter pass and to the one detailed here, the route from the bottom has some scrambles, and more edgy than this route, one not to do if you have a fear of heights.
This route isn't obvious at the start, so map would be recommended, once you can through the forest plantation you will see a sign for Grisedale pike and the path is then straightforward to the summit, although very steep, the summit has a small cairn but impressive views, the weather was not great when we walked with Ariya , we had a quick stop at the summit for photos and returned the same way, it took approx 2 hours, but was a continuous steep ascent for the whole walk.
