HILL WALKS IN THE NORTH WEST 

The North West of England has some amazing walking trails.

North West England is one of nine official regions of England and consists of the five counties Cheshire, Cumbria, Greater Manchester, Lancashire and Merseyside, but our walks in the North West dont include the Lake District as we have a separate page for them due to the amount of hikes in each region.

Various routes to the summit from 2.5 miles -8 miles- Barley

4 Mile return walk, one of the greatest ridge walks in the Forest of Bowland

Great first walk with little ascent and just 2 miles return walk in the  Forest of Bowland

6 miles, 4 summits with less that 400m ascent   in Chorley

In just 3 miles you can walk through Bold Venture park to the summit of Darwen Tower in Darwen

3 Summits and 6 miles walking, Easy walking route in clear visibility but can be boggy in Bury

4 mile return walk to the Highest point in Lancashire in the Forest of Bowland

4 Miles, full of history and old quarry ruins in Haslingden

3 miles easy/mod  walking on faint grass paths in The Forest of Bowland

Excellent walk , Japanese gardens, ruins, forest trail, caves, various walking trails from 2 miles in Chorley

7  mile walk, great views with some boggy sections
